Argentina Polo Tour – Copa Kawasaki and Copa La Bocha
Five teams entered the first 22 goal stage of the 5th Argentina Polo Tour, hosted by the Tortugas Country Club. The final, played at Palermo, was hotly contested between Enigma and La Merced. Enigma took some time to warm up, trailing 0-5 after the second chukka, but came alive in the third with some superb play. Play was fractious throughout, with penalties, technicals and yellow cards in abundance. Enigma took advantage at the beginning of the fourth chukka, converting a penalty to take the lead for the first time in the match and the momentum appeared to swing their way, going into the final chukka leading 9-8. La Merced however, had other ideas, and capitalized on several fouls by Enigma to seal the match and win the Copa Kawasaki. The runners up were awarded the Copa La Bocha.
Best playing pony was awarded to Matias MacDonough’s Milanesa.
The tour continues on Saturday, with the Copa Stella Artois and Copa Noveno Chukker TV at Centauros Polo Club.
