ELLERSTINA PIAGET SCORED OPENING WIN IN PALERMO

The grand stands were packed overlooking field two in Palermo, awaiting the legendary comeback of Chapaleufu, who had a very difficult opening game against title holders, Ellerstina Piaget.  The match started better for Chapaleufu, who took an early 2-1 lead by the end of the first chukker.

Hopes for the die-hard Chapaleufu fans came to an end very quickly; Ellerstina tightened their attack, to score five unanswered goals in the second chukker, which took them to a 6-3 lead.

From then on, the match belonged to the defending champions; a powerful team play plus the excellence of their horse string, guaranteed them the total control of the game, despite Chapaleufu’s efforts to get closer to the score.  Led by Facundo Pieres, who scored twelve goals, seven on penalty shots, Ellerstina Piaget took home a more than important debut win, on their first step to defend their title.
