From the USPA Communications Team

Located just two hours by car from Los Angeles and San Diego, the greater Palm Springs area is home to one of the largest and most popular winter polo destinations, the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.   With over 300 days of sunshine every year, this desert locale offers a radiant, dry climate for an exceptional winter polo experience.

Polo players discover a true polo oasis at this world-class polo facility.  The fragrant gardens, abundant onsite stabling and immaculate polo fields make Empire stand out from other polo clubs. Often described as one of the most beautiful polo facilities in the world, the Empire Polo Club offers players affordable polo with all the benefits of a five star club.  Also located onsite are the Tack Room Tavern Restaurant and The Date Shed, a live music venue.

Empire hosts 1-Goal, 4-Goal and 6-8 Goal Leagues during the winter season.  USPA Tournaments include the annual USPA 6-8 Goal Champions Cup and the USPA 4-Goal Lions Cup on March 20-29.  The USPA Townsend International Challenge Cup, a challenge match between U.S.A. and England, will be played in the Empire Polo Stadium on March 14.

Established in 1987, the Empire Polo Club has been an intricate part of polo history here in the California desert.  Empire’s polo facilities include a regulation-sized indoor polo arena, 12 grass fields, two exercise tracks and stabling for over 600 horses.  A hunter/jumper practice arena, barns and other facilities are also available.
