The undefeated La Dolfina beat UAE Polo by 9 to 4 -it was the two-time defending champion of the tournament-, on Saturday 7/12 on field 2 of the Campo Argentino de Polo Galicia in Palermo and thus won its fifth title – the highest winning team – in the IX Argentine Women’s Polo Open, which was starred by three formations of between 32 and 36 goals of FEM value, made up of the best players from Argentina, the United States, France and England.
After two very even first chukkers and in which UAE Polo was better off, La Dolfina played a great third period, to take the lead on the scoreboard and calm down. From there the best of the Cañuelas team was seen, which with a great game from the whole team and four goals from Mía Cambiaso -top scorer of the final-, closed the match with a 9-4 that makes clear the superiority of the champion team, which won the three games it played in the tournament.
THE NUMBERS
La Dolfina, champion in 2017, 18, 21 and 22, won the fifth championship in its ninth final – the only team that reached all the decisive matches.
With the victory, Mía Cambiaso and Millie Hine won their fifth title in the contest, equaling Cande Fernández Araujo as the top winners of the tournament. For her part, Hope Arellano reached three titles; while Cata Lavinia inscribed her name for the first time in the history of the tournament. Congratulations!
UAE Polo – formerly called El Overo UAE – with four titles won in 2019, 20, 23 and 24, could not achieve the fifth and will surely seek revenge in 2026.
