Home team Eclipse were up against visiting team The Simpsons. In their usual fashion Birkbeck and the boys went off like a box of fire crackers! Mind you The Simpsons did not hang around either. It was 0 goal match but the score after the first chukka was 4 to 2 ½.
It was quite a ding dong match, Stuart Beetles for the visiting team, vocal as ever, really got the best out of his team mates. The -2 Panda Tucker was an absolute star. She played so well. By the second half the score was much closer 5 to 4 ½.
The second chukka saw a goal by each team which kept the game tight. A slight delay between the third and the fourth chukka due to a hail storm did not slow The Simpsons down. A quick goal by Stuart gave them the lead for the first time at the start of the fourth chukka. A goal by Puff put Eclipse ahead, but a foul in front of the Eclipse goal gave The Simpsons the opportunity to win the match and they did it with a penalty 2. The final score was 7 ½ to 7.
