PJ’s Polo Party

The British Polo Season begins after Polo World flocks to PJ’s Bar and Grill on Monday 15th May 2017

Leading London restauranteur and successful polo patron Brian Stein believed the 27th PJ’s Polo Party was “the best ever” after key figures from the British polo season descended on PJ’s Bar and Grill on Monday night. The packed restaurant, always the “go to” venue for players in London since PJ’s first opened its doors in 1990, saw leading figures of the sport rubbing shoulders with younger players who are just starting out on their polo journey.

With PJ’s old friend Clovis Taittinger donating 200 bottles of his excellent Champagne to the party, and polo patron and vodka expert Dimitri Chobotarev adding his Ivan The Terrible Vodka into the mix, the party had all the ingredients to be a success. As Brian Stein said towards the end of the evening:

“We really couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. Everyone who really matters in British polo is in PJ’s tonight, celebrating a great sport with friends old and new. Polo may have had a tough winter, but the atmosphere in the room tonight is fantastic and will inspire us all to be at our best on the field of play this summer.

I created the PJ’s Polo Party in 1990 as a thank you to the players for supporting the restaurant, but tonight I want to thank everyone here for revitalising my love of polo. I am not sure that any other sport could generate such a dedicated, passionate and affectionate crowd as we have here tonight.”
