By Antje Derks

After some super polo during the league games of this year’s Queen’s Cup, the final eight teams have gone through to the quarter finals.

The first of these will take place at Guards Polo Club at 11 am on Saturday 6th June between Broncos and Dubai. The second fixture, also on Saturday, will take place at 3pm at Dubai’s polo ground and will be between Les Lions I and Lechuza Caracas.

The action continues on Sunday, 7th June at 3pm at Guards, with Apes Hill taking on La Bamba de Areco. The final match will take place at Cowdray at the same time (3pm). Sumaya will face Habtoor.

The winning four teams will go through to the Semi Finals held at Guards on Wednesday, 10th June. The matches will be 3 and 5pm respectively.

As a note of interest, Loro Piana, the 2007 winners of the Queen’s Cup, finished last in this year’s tournament, having lost all three of their league games. Billingbear Park were the only other team not to go through.
