Dubai wins and aims to fight for the Santa Maria Polo Club Gold Cup
Dubai Polo Team achieved this afternoon a major victory for the Santa María Polo Club Gold Cup after defeating La Indiana by 13 goals to 10. The defending champion of the most important trophy of the 46th International Polo Tournament achieved a deserved victory based on a great teamwork and with his best player, Pablo Mac Donough, scoring 9 of the 13 goals of his team. With this triumph, Dubai gets a little bit closer to the semifinals of the Gold Cup.

“We deserved a triumph like this because we were playing well but having bad luck to close the matches. We lost two times in overtime against Lechuza Caracas, the Silver Cup champions and the team was playing well. That´s why I think we deserved a victory like the one we achieved today against La Indiana”. The Gold Cup continues tomorrow with Ayala Polo Team playing against Dos Lunas A&G Banca Privada from 6.45 pm at Los Pinos field 4.
Aerolíneas Argentinas Medium Goal Gold Cup
In the single match held today for the Aerolíneas Argentinas Gold Cup, Sainte Mesme defeated Twenty 20 by 10 goals to 8. Tomorrow, from 5 pm at Los Pinos fields, the Medium Goal Gold Cup will resume with Golden Goose Deluxe Brand facing Marqués de Riscal followed by the unbeaten teams clash, Royal Salute vs Bardon.
In this 46th edition of the Tournament more than 21 teams are taking part of the competition, with a large number of elite players, including four of the top 10 players in world polo ranking: Facundo Pieres, who will play with Ayala Polo Team; Juan Martín Nero and Pablo Mac Donough, who will stand up for Brunei and Dubai Polo Teams, and the Uruguayan David Stirling. Besides polo matches, attendance, that´s free during almost all the season matches, has many leisure activities available: a varied gastronomy, Shopping Village, children’s area, bars, After Polo night parties.
