THE 2012 PRINCE OF WALES CUP – HURLINGHAM CLUB, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

 

History of the Club  

The Hurlingham Club was founded in 1888 by leading members of the local British community.

 

The stunning Club House, built in a traditional English style, and the variety of sports that the institution offers to its members, makes Hurlingham one of the most interesting clubs of the country.

  
Polo is the main sport and tradition of the Club. The first Argentine Polo Tournament took place at the Hurlingham Club in 1893. Nowadays the Club holds the Hurlingham Open, which is the second most important tournament of the Argentine polo season. This year it will take place the 119 Hurlingham Open, during October and November.

 

The Prince of Wales Cup

HRH The Prince of Wales played a memorable match at the Hurlingham Club when he visited Argentina in 1999. After playing this official match with some of the best argentine polo players, he donated the Prince of Wales Cup to the Club.

 

The Prince of Wales Cup has already become one of the most prestigious tournaments organized during the spring Argentine Polo Season . We invited you to participate of this Tournament ,all the matches will be played on field number 1, 2 and 4 of the club , same field where the Hurlingham Open is played and will have prominent press coverage .

  

Main features of the Tournament

Dates : November 6 until November 15 2012

Handicap: maximum 14 goals per team .

Individual Handicaps : highest International rating ,except for those players who have play in at least 3

Official tournaments in the last Argentine Season ,who will play with the Argentine Handicap .

 

Each team will play a minimum of 3 matches.

 

The tournament will be played with professional referees and under the rules of the AAP.
