On Friday 10/16, on court 4 of the Alfredo Lalor Headquarters that the AAP owns in Pilar, the third date (second of Zone A) of the 86th Tortugas Country Club Galicia Open presented by Visa began, in which the Emilio de Anchorena Cup is at stake.
In a duel between two teams that had won in their debut in the tournament, Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú overcame La Ensenada GreenArmor by a narrow 16 to 15 and thus is located, for the moment, as the sole leader of the group.
After a dominant start by La Ensenada, who built a six-goal lead, the Pieres and Heguy brothers’ team began to find their rhythm, holding their opponents scoreless for over 20 minutes and leveling the score by the end of the sixth chukker. Following several consecutive ties, the final chukker began with a spectacular penalty kick from midfield by Jero del Carril, giving La Ensenada the lead. However, Cruz Heguy equalized after a great run, and Facundo Pieres—the game’s (10) and tournament’s (20) top scorer—scored a 30-yard penalty kick with just over a minute and a half remaining to secure a hard-fought victory for Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú.

Second Match
Continuing the third round (second of Zone A) of the 86th Tortugas Country Club Galicia Open presented by Visa, in which the Emilio de Anchorena Cup is at stake, on Friday 10/16 on field 6 of the Alfredo Lalor Headquarters that the AAP owns in Pilar, the recent champion of the Hurlingham Open and only candidate for the AAP Triple Crown, La Natividad La Dolfina, continued its winning streak by defeating La Zeta Kazak -one of the formations that emerged from the qualifying tournament- by a close 15 to 14.
Cañuelas had three excellent opening chukkers, orchestrated from the back by Barto Castagnola, who ended up being his team’s top scorer for the day. But La Zeta never stopped fighting, and with Lorenzo Chavanne playing at a high level, they began to close the gap until they were just one goal behind their opponent, a situation unthinkable before the start of the match.
For La Natividad La Dolfina, it was another victory, extending their unbeaten streak to 16 games since the two organizations joined forces, while for the team led by Nicolás Pieres and “Sapo” Caset, it was the satisfaction of having played a great game against the best team in the world.
