Polo will go on this summer in the Hamptons after all

Two Tree Farms owner David Walentas has decided to renew his lease with the Bridgehampton Polo Club for one year so the annual tournament will continue there, a Walentas rep confirmed yesterday. Page Six first reported last month that Walentas had decided not to renew the lease with the Polo Club, founded by Neil Hirsch and publishing magnate Peter Brant, and the tournament would have to find another home. But Walentas — who’s currently asking for $55 million for Two Trees, which has been up for sale since 2008 — had a change of heart.

Sources said the summer classic will go on as usual, including its marquee VIP tent typically packed with the likes of Kelly Ripa, Donald Trump, Howard Stern and Chris Bosh. However, the name of the competition will change: Mercedes-Benz will no longer be a sponsor, as its partnership ended last summer.
