Tamera Triumph in Overtime in the U.S Open Polo Championship League Games

lafe1Success has yo-yoed between these two teams each time they have been matched up this season, but on Sunday 7th April it was once again the turn of the USPA Gold Cup Subsidiary winners to take the win in overtime. Tamera ran out winners 12-11 after a close match which saw them leading all the way, despite being only half their original roster. With Lerin Zubiaurre in for an injured Diego Cavanagh and young Mackenzie Weisz replacing Segundo Saravi, Tamera needed the win having lost to two of the strongest teams in the tournament Valiente and Park Place.

La Fe fought the whole way, never allowing Tamera more than 2 goals grace and tying up the score at 11-11 with just 18 seconds to go in the final chukka and pushing the game into overtime, but a cool headed Matias Torres Zavaleta was able to score the all important winning goal after a nail biting back and forth in front of goal, sealing their first win of the tournament.
