The Army team won the Major General’s Cup

Congratulations to The Army team who retained the Major General’s Cup on Sunday. They defeated Edward Horswell’s Sladmore team 4-3 in a closely fought final. The Lord Milo Manton, playing for Sladmore, was named The Most Valuable Player while the Polo Times Best Playing Pony prize was presented to Monty, played by the Army’s Capt Oliver Powell. Col Jeremy Bagshaw, Chief of Staff at Army Headquarters London District and Lt Col Sean O’Dwyer, Vice President of Guards Polo Club, presented the prizes.
The sub final was won by Major Jamie Hayward’s Stable Cottage; they beat Porto Kiln Wink 6-3. Meanwhile, the Polo Manager’s Trophy headed home with Limitless Dogs. They had a convincing 10-4.5 win over the Household Cavalry.
